Aughadown Upper Graveyard

Location of the Becher grave

Note: Old graveyards are not laid out in strict grid formats. This is a good, but not exact, indication of the location of this grave

Graveyard Information:
This is the site of a medieval church, however no trace of that building remains today. The graveyard contains numerous graves with the earliest inscriptions dating to the early 1700s. This site adjoins the newer 1812 church and graveyard.

Directions:
Follow the N71 from Skibbereen to Ballydehob. About 6 kms from Skibbereen turn left after the Church Cross sign, following the townland sign for Goleen Marsh. The graveyard is at the end of this road.
